Prepare to Rage Again – ‘Aggretsuko’ Season 2 Premieres June 2019

By Sara Roncero-MenendezMay 26, 2019

Who can’t emphasize with an employee who feels crushed both at work and at home? That’s probably why the anime show starring Sanrio’s office worker/karaoke enthusiast is so popular. And after a very popular first season, Netflix would have actually had to been crazy not to renew it. And now we have our first look at Season 2 as well as a premiere date:

If you haven’t had a chance to see the show yet, Aggretsuko follows a 25-year-old red panda name Retsuko who works in the accounting department of a major company. The way she manages to deal with the injustices of daily life is to rage-sing heavy metal music at a karaoke place after work. She encounters problems at work and in her personal life, making new friends and developing fulfilling relationships. It was first popularized by a series of shorts before Netflix made it into a show in its own right.

Besides the teaser, we also get a look at some scenes from the new season from their tweet:

Wait, I think I got it… I’LL CHANNEL MY RAGE WITH THIS FIRST LOOK AT AGGRETSUKO SEASON 2, COMING JUNE 14! 🤘🤘🤘 pic.twitter.com/xayg3CNhBD

As we’ve seen, Retsuko is going to continue the rage singing, hanging out with friends, and interacting with love interest Haida. It also looks like we’ll finally meet Retsuko’s mom – in the shorts, we met her grandma who has a similar temper to Retsuko but no other family members (as far as I could find, anyways). It’ll be interesting to see what misadventures our favorite angry red panda gets into next and we won’t have to wait very long…

Aggretsuko Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on June 14, 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
