New Gameplay Trailer Of Nioh 2 Shown, Upcoming Closed Alpha Demo Coming To PS4

By Keith MitchellMay 22, 2019

It’s been quite some time since we last hear about Koei Tecmo’s upcoming action RPG, Nioh 2. In fact, we haven’t heard anything about the game since it was announced at E3 2018. Then out of nowhere, the company drops this over the top trailer in our laps. Look like we’ll have our hands full as there seems to be a never-ending supply of Yokai to face off against.

Check out the trailer here.

But that’s not all, as there’s also a closed Alpha Demo that will take place on the PS4 from May 24 to  June 2, 2019.  Sadly, there are no signups for this and Koei Tecmo will randomly pick people to partake in the Alpha. Meaning, people like me who ran through the original title on the PC are likely out of luck. Also judging from the tweet that this first beta won’t have a large number of people involved.

Some PS4 users are invited to take part in the Nioh 2 closed alpha to help gather feedback for the development. To ensure the team can manage the feedback, there are no plans to expand the alpha at the moment, but please keep an eye on our channels for more info in the future. pic.twitter.com/hS1l0rHLFa

Nioh 2 is slated to release on the PlayStation 4, and no other platforms have been announced as of yet.

New to Nioh 2 will be the ability to create your own character. Something that was sorely missed in the first game, not that William wasn’t a nice character. The game is supposedly going to be a lot harder, as stated by Team Ninja’s Creative Director Tom Lee. According to Lee, “the gloves are off” and “we’re gonna go in hard”. There are also a few things the team wanted to do in the first outing but weren’t able to. Expect to see those man an appearance in Nioh 2.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store. Bring it on Team Ninja! Do, your, worst!
