Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Officially Announced, Coming To PS4/Xbox One/PC November 2019

During today’s panel at the Star Wars celebration that’s being held in Chicago, Respawn Entertainment officially revealed the next chapter of Star Wars titles. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a single player, third-person adventure title that will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this November 15, 2019.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will take place after the events of ‘Star Wars: III – Revenge of the Sith’. The main character is a young padawan named Cal Kestis, who managed to stay alive after Order 66. Which many fans of the series know this as the beginning of the end for the Jedi order. However, since he didn’t get a chance to finish his training, players will need to return to this past to not only to complete Cal’s training. But to also to stay out of the sight of the Empire, who has an interest in putting down any remaining Jedi.

While we didn’t see any gameplay, it does mention that we’ll see plenty of lightsaber action throughout the game. Which is great, since we really haven’t any satisfying lightsaber titles since Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Jedi Academy, which despite its age is easily my favorite when it comes to lightsaber battles. Here’s to hoping Fallen Order can surpass that game. There’s also going to be a new planet called Bracca, which is where we’ll first be introduced to Cal. According to Respawn, there will be other new locations that we’ll visit as well. Apparently, in addition to some new faces, some older and familiar ones will also make an appearance. No mention as to who, but if this follows the storyline then I have a good idea on who they’ll be.

Respawn is stressing that Fallen Order, will focus on the gameplay and narrative more than anything. They’re quite aware of the stigma of not only Star War video games, but also than fans aren’t exactly happen with several large titles that have been released from the EA camp. As such they’re assured that this will be a tour de force and that they’re during their best to live up to the Star Wars universe. To provide the epic lightsaber battles that fans see in the films and will be bringing that to the game Letting us live out our favorite Jedi moments.

For those worried about microtransactions, EA and Respawn Entertainment have confirmed that there will zero included. None, notta, not happening. So you can breathe a sigh of relief.

No microtransactions. No loot boxes. And no, we won't be adding them. A single-player Star Wars story for those of you who are ready to become a Jedi. https://t.co/kTheWVBjJc

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will have two editions to choose from. A standard edition at $59.99 and a deluxe edition at $69.99. Included in the deluxe is a “Director’s Cut”, behind the scenes features from the creation of the game and in-game content. As well as several unannounced pre-order bonuses.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this November 15, 2019.
