First Look At Jim Carrey’s Robotnik From ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Movie, Possible Trailer Drop Tomorrow

By Keith MitchellApril 29, 2019
Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik

If you’re like me, you’re one of the millions that cringed at the idea of Sonic the Hedgehog being adapted into a live-action flick. We’ve all see the horrible renders and we’ve pretty much given up any hope of the movie being good.  That said, a new image of Jim Carrey starring as Doctor “Eggman” Robotnik has been released and if I’m being honest, that’s not half bad.

According to Twitter user, SEGAbits, this image isn’t a rumor. Yep, it’s 100% confirmed by those who were able to see the trailer at CinemaCon.

Yes, he’s not egg-shaped, but I didn’t really expect that to be the case either. Jim is also an amazing actor, so I expect this character to be hilarious as all hell. Even when he’s trying to be serious.

As you can see in the twitter, there’s also a rumor that we very may well see the first trailer for Sonic the Movie being released tomorrow. I haven’t see anything about this from Paramount, but they may want to surprise everyone. So if it happens, we’ll be sure to give our impressions of the trailer.

Either way, I’m just hoping this won’t be a trainwreck. Video game adaptions don’t work very well, as I’m sure a number of our readers know. Fingers crossed and I’m pulling for you, Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog releases into theaters on November 8, 2019 by Paramount Pictures.
