Now’s Your Chance To Check Out DC Films ‘Shazam!’ Before The Actual Release Date

By Keith MitchellMarch 13, 2019

Now that Marvel’s Captain Marvel has made her debut, it’s time for DC Films own Mythical-powered hero, ‘Shazam!’ (also Captain Marvel) to swoop into theaters. While the film doesn’t release until April 5, 2019, WB Pictures and Fandango is offering movie-goers a chance to see the film next Saturday. Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it?

All you have to do is head on over to Fandango’s website, select the movie and see if any of your local theaters are participating. Then you’ll just have to hope that everyone else isn’t trying to buy tickets at the same time as you. Yes, this is early access to one of the more anticipated DC films in quite some time and if you’re quick and lucky enough, you may find yourself checking it out early.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a screenplay by Henry Gayden, and a story by Gayden and Darren Lemke, the film is set to star Asher Angel as Billy Batson, a teenage boy who can transform via the magic word “Shazam” into an adult superhero, played by Zachary Levi. Shazam! also features Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Djimon Hounsou as supporting characters. This is the first film version of the character since the 1941 serial Adventures of Captain Marvel (the original Captain Marvel) and will be the first full-length feature film centered around the character.

While there’s no Black Adam in this film, don’t be discouraged. The Black Adam film starring Dwayne “Rock” Johnson is also currently underway. There’s no word if Shazam will appear in that film, but one thing is for sure. Both of these powerhouses are destined to clash in an epic battle, we just don’t know when that will be.

‘Shazam!’ officially releases in theaters everywhere on April 5, 2019, Early-access tickets are now on sale for the March 23, 2019 screening.

As for me, I already have my tickets. Maybe I’ll see you at the theaters, yeah?
