Hollywood is Making a Hello Kitty Movie

By Josh PiedraMarch 6, 2019
Hello Kitty

If you thought the Hello Kitty fad here in America was finally coming to an end, the most recognizable cat from Japan (outside of a flying Poptart cat that farts rainbows) is getting her own Hollywood movie adaptation. The news was confirmed by Sanrio and Warner Brothers Japan that New Line Cinema is going to be working on a movie based on Sanrio’s characters, including Hello Kitty.

Beau Flynn will be the producer for the film. He has worked on several titles ranging from Hercules, Rampage, Skyscraper, and San Andreas. Skyscraper’s executive producer, Wendy Jacobson, will fulfill the same role for the Hello Kitty movie. Does this mean that it will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? Oh God, that would be hilarious!

As of now, the movie is still in the planning stages. The studio does not know whether the movie will be CG, animated, or live-action. A release time frame has also not been decided. All that is known is that Hello Kitty is coming to the big screen!
