Another Legend of Zelda Remake Coming?

By Todd BlackMarch 8, 2019
Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening

The first official Nintendo Direct for the year delivered many surprises. But the biggest one by far was the reveal that the beloved Link’s Awakening (which was first done on the Game Boy) would be getting a remake on the Nintendo Switch. Fans were a little surprised by the very Chibi-like graphics (after the epic anime opening…) but that’s neither here no there. It’s a great time to be a Legend of Zelda fan. But a rumor going around says that it won’t be the ONLY remake coming out to Switch this year.

This rumor comes from a person named Vergeben, who states that there is another 2D Legend of Zelda remake coming this year. Though they didn’t state which one, they did note a few key details. One, it wouldn’t be as big a scale as the Link’s Awakening remake, and two, it would be a digital-only title. Which makes me personally think that it could be a Zelda II remake of sorts.

Again, this is only a rumor, and should be treated as such. But if it is true, that would be another big win for the Nintendo Switch. Which is primed to have a really good year.
