Gintama Manga Set to Continue

By Josh PiedraFebruary 22, 2019
Gintama

Gintama is quickly becoming the Terry Funk of the manga world… in other words, it’s finding it very difficult to wrap things up and call it a day. It was announced that Hideki Sorachi’s Gintama manga will continue past its final chapter but not within the confines of a Weekly Shonen Jump or a Jump GIGA magazine but rather within Shueisha’s official app. The official statement stated:

“The further side of the final chapter (continue)”

The manga will be available for free to anyone who uses the app and wishes to continue reading the series. Gintama ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2004 to 2018, compiling 76 tankoban volumes and selling more than 55 million copies. The manga then ended with the same message about chapters beyond the final chapter and the manga ended up continuing into the Jump GIGA magazine from December 2018 until the current and present day. Now, we’re given the same treatment with the manga moving from a magazine to an online app.

Anyone else that we’re just getting constantly trolled by Sorachi? Given Gintama’s nature, I’d assume it’s a safe bet.
