Get Introduced To The Chained Ogre From Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

By Keith MitchellFebruary 26, 2019
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice header

With just a little more than three weeks until Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is to be released. It seems that Fromsoftware and Activision have been releasing more tidbits of gameplay. Ah, I can take but so much hype!

First, it was the show tease of General Tenzen Yamauchi, which was followed up with another short tease of Lady Butterfly. Now they’ve released yet another show gameplay trailer. This one shows off the same ogre that we’ve seen countless times since the first footage of Sekiro in action was released.

The Chained Ogre, as the character is being called, reminds me of something straight out of Dark Souls III. If you’ve played the game, you know who I mean. The same guys that run around with the giant pots in their hands, yep those guys. However, this guy looks to be a bit more hostile, as he charges Sekiro and begins to pummel him into the ground. Finishing it off with a nasty toss at the end. All of which looks amazing and makes me really want to get my hands on this game. The sooner the better. Wait, why am I so eager to die over and over in a game?

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice takes place in 1500s Sengoku Japan. You’ll take control of a Shinobi who has not only lost the young lord that was placed under his protection, but also his arm in a bloody battle. Riddled with guilt, driven by revenge and armed with a prosthetic that provides multiple advantages, you’ll fight through anyone who gets in your way as you try to retrieve the young lord.

A departure from previous Fromsoftware titles, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is labeled as an action/adventure title with RPG elements. You won’t find any weapon or armor upgrades. No classes or stats to level up. Expect nothing more than action, action, and even more action. Which sounds like the perfect way to waste some time.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice releases on March 22, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also one of my most eagerly awaited titles of 2019 and looks to be one of the best hack and slash titles of 2019.

I. NEED. THIS. GAME!
