Top Nintendo Switch eShop Games Of 2018

By Todd BlackDecember 29, 2018
Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch had a solid year, especially with releases of games like Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler, Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let’s Go, and of course, Super Smash Bros Ultimate. But, it was also a big year for the Switch in terms of the digital marketplace. For the system had big digital sales, and Nintendo was happy with every single one of them. So now, with the end of the year pretty much here, they decided to reveal who came out on top.

Below is the top 30 Nintendo eShop titles on the Nintendo Switch:

1. Fortnite
2. Fallout Shelter
3. Paladins
4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
5. Warframe
6. Arena of Valor
7. Minecraft
8. Hollow Knight
9. Super Mario Party
10. Celeste
11. Mario Tennis Aces
12. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee
13. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu
14. Dead Cells
15. Overcooked! 2
16. Octopath Traveler
17. Undertale
18. Kirby Star Allies
19. Diablo III: Eternal Collection
20. Wizard of Legend
21. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
22. Okami HD
23. Darkest Dungeon
24. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
25. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
26. Golf Story

Now, as you can see, with Fortnite on the top of the list, this proves that this is more of a “most downloaded eShop title” list than anything else. But, it does give some good insight. Such as Fortnite being downloaded millions upon millions of times on the Nintendo Switch, including 2 million times in the first day. Then, there’s Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which is on the list despite only being out for three weeks!

Indie games Hollow Knight and Celeste made a big splash too coming in at 9 and 10, proving that the indie games on Nintendo had a big part to play in 2018.

Who knows what will be the next big hit in 2019.
