Masahiro Sakurai Visits Atlus To Talk Persona 5

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Persona 5, Masahiro Sakurai

About three weeks ago, the internet nearly exploded when it was revealed at The Game Awards that Joker from Persona 5 was going to be coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This was unprecedented, as every single 3rd party character in the game (so far) has been on a Nintendo platform at some point in time. But not Joker. In a column with Famitsu, it was revealed that Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai had a great fondness for the game, and that led to him bringing it into Smash Bros Ultimate.

But now, we get to see just how much he loves Persona 5, for Sakurai had a video made of him visiting Atlus to talk about his love for the game, complete with him meeting the mascot of the series, Morgana the Cat. Yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds. No, really, it is.

Many are trying their hardest to translate and explain what Sakurai says, but early translations have him saying very positive things about the Persona franchise, including him beating the fifth main title once, which helped establish his love for the game.

But the real question is, why is this happening at all? Many feel that this is confirmation that Persona 5 won’t just be in Smash Bros Ultimate, but rather, be getting a port to the Nintendo Switch. Rumors are swirling that this is a possibility, but only Nintendo (and maybe Sakurai) know for sure.
