Vertical Announces New Titles at Anime NYC

By Josh PiedraNovember 19, 2018

During Anime NYC, Vertical Comics announced several new titles with the highlight being an artbook for illustrator VOFAN, who is known for the Monogatari series. The art book, called Colorful Dreams, is set to release in October 2019. This will be the first of three art books published in the West under the Colorful Dreams label. This book, along with two others, we’re already published in Taiwan in 2006, 2007, and 2009.

Vertical also announced the acquisition of the Sherlock Holmes and Hirobumi Ito light novel. The novel is set to release in March of 2019. Subsequently, Sherlock Holmes: A Scandal in Japan is set to release a month later in April 2019. Kodansha Comics previously published this novel in June 2017. Vertical describes the novel as follows:

Sherlock Holmes travels to Japan where he teams up with the first Prime Minister of Japan, Hirobumi Ito to solve an international mystery.

Lastly, Vertical announced it would release the Serial Killer Detective novel at some point during Fall 2018. Given the fact that Winter begins next month, it means that its release is coming very soon! Kodansha previously published the novel in November 2017. Vertical describes the novel as follows:

Rising-star detective Yuri meets her match when a trusted police confidante, a brilliant psychoanalyst, slightly botches a murder and refuses to claim it for his serial-killer persona. The victim, an enigmatic young woman, turns out to have been no slouch, either.
