Now ‘Daredevil’ Has Been Canceled After Three Seasons

By Keith MitchellNovember 30, 2018
Daredevil series canceled on Netflix

Following the cancelations of both Marvel’s and Netflix’s ‘Iron Fist‘ and ‘Luke Cage‘, we all knew the writing was on the way for the rest of the shows. Sadly, confirmed our speculations last night, as the streaming service announced that ‘Daredevil’ had been canceled.

This comes to a shock to not only the fans of the show, as season three was easily the best so far. But also to the writers, who were told that the series was being canceled. I can’t even imagine how they were feeling during this.

Man, so weird to be in the Daredevil writers room today, getting the news that we're cancelled. On the walls were an entire season 4 laid out – and it was so f***g cool. So many moments we wanted the fans to see… Sigh, this business.

The latest casualty in Marvel’s and Netflix’s TV deal, and likely not the last. All fingers are being pointed at Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, as being the main reason why all these shows are being canceled. Not only is Disney determined to get the platform up and running by 2019. They also have let their contract/deal with Netflix expire in 2019 as well.

Compound that with rumors and confirmations that there has been a number of creative issues with all of the shows. It seems this has moved way past the boiling point.

As of now, only two shows remain; Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Both of which have upcoming seasons as well. Just don’t be surprised that after both of their runs that they also end up being canceled. Oh, and in case you’re wondering. Neither ‘The Punisher’ or ‘Jessica Jones’ new seasons have been given a release date. Part of me is wondering if they’ll end up being canceled before the shows even air. Sure, it’s crazy but as we’ve seen, this whole situation has been a mess.

In any event, now that the show has been canceled. I really hope it does get a season four on Disney+. The ending to the third season left everyone wanting more and the writers had already laid out the plans. It would be a shame if this doesn’t happen. C’mon Disney, you started this – don’t let us all down even more.

Now if you’d excuse me, I have some tables to go flip. God damn it, why’d you have to go cancel this amazing series!
