‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ Trailer is Out and it’s Total Chaos

By Sara Roncero-MenendezSeptember 7, 2018

Another fall, another season for American Horror Story, and boy what a season this is turning out to be. American Horror Story: Apocalypse is a crossover of both the first and third season, Murder House and Coven. And boy, does the show’s first trailer really highlights the insanity about to happen.

The basic conceit is that the AntiChrist, born at the end of Murder House, has come of age and its time for the world to end. Now, in the trailer, we see what that looks that, and it’s pretty scary. First, people begin panicking in the street and a nuclear bomb goes off, forcing people to head underground and indoors.

Outpost 3, as we are told this creepy house is call, is led by Venable, played by Sarah Paulson, and Ms. Meade, by Kathy Bates. There’s strict rules, torture, snakes, murder, the gimp ghost from Murder House, lots of dark corners and twisting staircases, roving squads of hazmat suits, and more. It looks like a lot, with many different facets falling into place. It could either be amazing, or, like the very ambitious Asylum season, a sizzling hot mess.

Cody Fern will play the adult AntiChrist, and Jessica Lange will be back as Constance Langdon, grandmother to the AntiChrist and his caretaker. We also see Paulson as Cordelia Foxx, the head of the Coven as well as several of the dead witches, like Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy) and Misty Day (Lily Rabe). We will see the return of the whole Harmon family, as well as Stevie Nicks as herself…well herself as a witch. It’s going to be a massive cast, including series regulars like Evan Peters and Taissa Farmiga, as well as Gabourey Sidibe, Connie Britton, Billy Eichner, and Dylan McDermott.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse will premiere on FX on September 12, 2018.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
