Super Smash Bros Ultimate Already Best-Selling Game For 2018 On Amazon

By Todd BlackAugust 27, 2018
Super Smash Bros Ultimate

To say that Super Smash Bros Ultimate is one of the most hyped games of the year would be an understatement and a disservice. Ever since the game was slyly teased during a Nintendo Direct earlier in the year, the game was hyped. Then, when it was revealed in full at E3 2018, and got the moniker of “Everyone is Here!” the game became a legend, and with the recent Smash Bros Direct that revealed both Simon Belmont and King K. Rool as new fighters, the game has reached even higher levels of hype.

But if you don’t believe me, believe Amazon, who have updated their “Best Selling Games Of 2018” list, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate is currently the #5 ranking. But it should be noted that the top four on that list are gaming gift cards. Which means that Super Smash Bros Ultimate is already the best-selling game of the year on Amazon…and it hasn’t even been released yet. So it’s winning on pre-orders alone.

Does that sound familiar to you? Well, if you got a Nintendo Switch last year, then you’ll likely remember that this is the same thing that happened to Super Mario Odyssey. It topped the charts on Amazon too via pre-orders, and it appears that Smash Bros is doing the same.

Between the reveals and Nintendo Directs, the hype is going to keep building until its December 7th release date, and it goes to reason that the pre-orders will rise with it.
