Here we go gang, Diablo 3 is officially coming to the Switch

By Keith MitchellAugust 16, 2018

If yesterday’s leak of Diablo 3 for the Nintendo Switch wasn’t enough for you. Today we have the official announcement that Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is coming to the Switch.

Just like yesterday, this new edition of Diablo 3 will include the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions. Of course, that’s not all as the Switch version will include some very special Nintendo-inspired exclusives. Such as the Ganondorf cosmetic armor, Cucco Pet and Triforce Portrait Frame, plus the Echoes of the Mask Wings, for those who pre-order the game.

For fans of co-op, you’ll be to play the title in a local environment via wifi and online using Nintendo’s Switch Online service.

“The Eternal Collection is the definitive version of Diablo III, and we’re thrilled to team up with Nintendo to unleash it for Nintendo Switch gamers around the world later this year,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Bringing the world together through epic entertainment is core to our mission at Blizzard—we can’t wait to welcome a new generation of demon-slayers to Sanctuary.”

Outside of those exclusive items, this is the same Diablo 3 that we’ve played on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. However, this time around you’ll be able to play the game at home and continue your adventures on the go. I may have to pick this up once it’s released.

Eager to get an early look at the game? Well, you’re in luck as Blizzard will be bringing the title to both Gamescom 2018 and PAX East 2018. If you’re attending either event, make sure you find your way over to the Nintendo or Blizzard Entertainment booth and check it out.

Diablo III Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch will be available later this year and will be priced at $59.99.
