‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Teaser Show Us Something New in Hawkins

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJuly 16, 2018

Few seasons are as anticipated for as Stranger Things Season 3, so every little hint or piece of media is a sweet tidbit of precious data. Now Netflix has thrown us yet another piece to tide us over with this new trailer for a mall, opening up in the little town of Hawkins:

This new Starcourt mall has lots of fun little details. The grainy video footage and cheesy music really capture the 1980s. We see a few brands that have long beed dead like Sam Goody and Walden Books, which is sure to bring back some fond memories for us mallrats. But the biggest thing about the trailer is that everyone’s favorite team mom, Steve Harrington, is working for minimum wage at one of the mall’s stores, an ice cream parlor called Scoops Ahoy. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

While we don’t get a lot of information, it is clear this mall is going to be a central setting for the new season. Another important question is not what’s happening in the mall, but rather where is it built? Is it possible that the mall is take up real estate near Hawkin’s Lab? Could there be some dark secrets waiting to be found? We’ll just have to wait and see.

There is still no word as to when Stranger Things Season 3 will be available, but hopefully since this trailer for a mall opening in summer, that means we might be getting the next season in Summer 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
