If its one character that Matt Groening does well, it’s that “I don’t need no validation” character – and his new show Disenchantment doesn’t change that. The new series – debuting on Netflix on August 17 –  had a trailer revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, and it gave a detailed look at the main character, Bean (Abbi Jacobson,) and her adventures as she tries to discover who she is. Joined by her elven companion, Elfo, and her personal demon, Luci, Bean travels through the “crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland” to find her place in the world after running from the altar after choosing not to marry someone she doesn’t wish to.

Here is the synopsis of Disenchantment:

From the mind of Matt Groening, comes the 10-episode adult animated [comedy-fantasy] series, Disenchantment, launching on Netflix, August 17, 2018. In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

Along with Abby Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Eric Andre voice the main trio, with John DiMaggio and Billy West providing additional voices. Disenchantment begins streaming on Netflix on August 17.
