Monster Hunter World For The PC Arrives This August 9th

Soon we’ll be hunting them monsters

Listen up PC gamers, Capcom has finally announced the release date for Monster Hunter World on PC. And it’s sooner than you imagined, August 9th, 2018.  The PC version is priced at $59.99, while the deluxe edition is listed at $79.99 but is discounted to $70.48, for now. The Steam page for the title is already up and running.

Preordering the standard version will provide you with the following;

  • Origin Set: The Origin Set armor is a nostalgic must-have for series fans. This full armor set (head, chest, arms, waist, and legs) comes with enough defense to carry you through the early quests, and also features plenty of skills useful for gathering.
  • Fair Wind Charm: The Fair Wind charm carries a skill that increases your attack power, and one that adds a chance of reducing the damage you take. The charm also has a nice visual impact, as equipping it will add a glowing aura effect to your left arm!

While the deluxe edition will include everything from standard edition and the following:

  • Samurai Set: Layered armor sets will change the look of your armor without changing the properties underneath. Equip this Samurai set over your favorite armor to take on the striking appearance of a feudal Japanese samurai warrior!
  • Gesture: Zen
  • Gesture: Ninja Star
  • Gesture: Sumo Slap
    Sticker Set: MH All-Stars Set
  • Sticker Set: Sir Loin Set
  • Face Paint: Wyvern
  • Hairstyle: Topknot

Capcom has stated that the PC version will also receive the same updates as the consoles, and will gain access to the rotating events. We just don’t know how soon those updates will be released, but they won’t be available at launch. Hopefully, the PC version will catch up to the console versions, so there’s not parity between them.

PC requirements to play the game are listed below. Keep in mind that both requirements are only for 1080p@30fps. To run the game higher than this, you’re definitely going to need a beefier PC. The game will also support up to 4K, just as the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X has. However, you’re likely going to get need either a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 Ti if you’re looking for 4K@60fps, let alone 4K@30fps.

Minimum Requirements

Processor: Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.2GHz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD equivalent
HDD: 25GB free space
OS: Windows 7/8/8.1, or Windows 10

Recommended Requirements

Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.4GHz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent
HDD: 25GB free space
OS: Windows 7/8/8.1, or Windows 10

Now that we finally have a release date, we’re hoping that the 7-month headstart that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have won’t deter the PC sales. As for any news on cross-platform play or cross-saves, Capcom hasn’t said anything about that. Chances are if you’ve played the heck out of the console versions and want to migrate to the PC. You simply may have to start all over again.

As for me? I enjoyed playing MHW on the PS4 Pro, check out our review here. I just didn’t like the fact that my framerate was all over the place. With Capcom delaying the PC version for performance issues, I’m hoping that won’t be an issue. Now, do I double-dip or not.
