By Isaiah JonesJune 10, 2018
League of Legends

University of California, Irvine vs Columbia College

Day 4, the final day, of the 2018 League of Legends College Championships begins. The two remaining teams, University of California, Irvine and Columbia College face off against each other in a best of five series. The following teams were eliminated during day three:

Seed 6 – University of Maryland (Eliminated by Seed 2 – University of California, Irvine)

Seed 8 – University of Illinois (Eliminated by Seed 5 – Columbia College)

Finals

Game one, and the only game, began at 6:00 pm EST. University of California, Irvine was looking to cement their legacy in the tournament by continuing their dominant performance. Undefeated so far, Columbia College wanted to put a stop to this. University of California, Irvine would go on to sweep Columbia College in three straight games. A dominant showing from mid-laner Jeffrey “Descraton” Du would help carry the team in the victory. After the game, he had this to say:

“I think coming into this game we were all confident that we would be able to come out on top and that’s what we did. I think for me, I want to finish school first and finish my college degree, and afterwards let’s see what happens.”

– Descraton

In addition to a championship trophy, University of California, Irvine will get customized rings to commemorate their victory.
