E3 2018: Koei Tecmo Sneaks In A Nioh 2 Announcement During Sony’s E3 2018 Conference

During the Sony E3 2018, Koei Tecmo snuck in a game that I wasn’t sure we’d see anytime soon. That game was Nioh 2, a follow-up to the highly successful action-RPG that based in Sengoku period of Japan.  The showing was so brief that if you had turned away for a moment, you would have missed it.

Sadly, the footage we saw was somewhat confusing. However, what I took away from this is that William, the protagonist of the first game, doesn’t appear to be returning. At first glance, I thought it was him in the trailer. However, this new character has black hair and different facial features. In addition, it looks like this person doesn’t seem to process the skills William did He did basically fight the biggest Oni of them all at the end of Nioh. I’m sure these guys in the trailer would be a walk in the part for him.

Nioh 2 will likely focus on a new character. One that gains the ability to transform into an Oni, after being struck down by one. Horns and all. Outside of this, we don’t know anything else about the game.  Since it was shown off during the PlayStation conference, we know that it’s coming to the PS4. But will it also make it to the PC at the same time, or come at a later date. Just as the original did?

I suppose we’ll have to wait on that answer and more. Here’s to hoping Koei Tecmo has more information to share during the E3 2019
