Jordan Peele Reveals New Horror Movie, ‘Us’

By Sara Roncero-MenendezMay 9, 2018

Horror fans, rejoice! Jordan Peele is officially putting out a second horror film, and has just revealed its release date and title: Us. Sadly, that’s just about all the information we got.

https://twitter.com/JordanPeele/status/994004752466767872?tfw_creator=usatoday&tfw_site=usatoday&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.usatoday.com%2Fstory%2Flife%2Fmovies%2F2018%2F05%2F08%2Fjordan-peele-us-get-out%2F593414002%2F

Peele has a ton of projects coming up, from a Twilight Zone reboot for CBS as well as an upcoming docuseries on Lorena Bobbitt, but this is the one we’re all excited for. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be about two couples, one black and one white, but the bigger plot is being kept tightly under wraps. Peele is writing the script as well as producing it through his company, Monkeypaw Productions.

Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Elisabeth Moss are all reportedly in talks to appear in the film, which will begin shooting sometime later this year. Nyong’o is said to be in the negotiations phase, while the other two are still in the early stages of the deal.

One has to wonder about this quick turn around, and if it’s going to be another low-budget thriller like Get Out was. Still, no production is perfect and delays feel like this should be expected with this short a timeline. I’m sure I speak for many fans when I say that we’re ready and willing to wait until this film is the masterpiece we know it can and will be.

Us is set to premiere in theaters in March 15, 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
