Swery Reopens Kickstarter for ‘The Good Life’

By VeronicaMarch 27, 2018
The Good Life

The wonderfully weird game writer and director Hidetaka Suehiro, otherwise known as SWERY, has just re-opened his Kickstarter campaign for his latest project, The Good Life. The game is a murder mystery much like SWERY’s previous work, and is described as having RPG elements. The story follows Naomi, a journalist from New York who moves to a small town called Rainy Woods where strange things are happening. Strange as in, the townspeople transform into cats and dogs at night. SWERY cowrites with Yukio Futatsugi, working with their development teams at White Owls and G-rounding.

Its previous crowdfunding campaign did not meet its goal, but this time SWERY has brought forth more specifics and screenshots for the game. The game has two goals – to pay off your debt by earning money from photography jobs, and to solve the Rainy Woods murder and uncover the town’s secret. Your actions affect how the townspeople behave, and what kind of relationships you build with them.

You can read all the new details on the official Kickstarter page; here’s the concept trailer:

The Good Life looks like it could shape up to be just as strange as Deadly Premonition, which is what we’ve come to expect from SWERY. If you’re at all interested, now is your opportunity to back his project! They are anticipating a late 2019 release, currently slated for PS4 and PC.
