Puyo Puyo Tetris Almost At 1 Million Sales On Nintendo Switch

By Todd BlackFebruary 5, 2018
Puyo Puyo Tetris

Well, chalk up another win for the Nintendo Switch. Throughout last year, and early this year, we’ve heard success story after success story for the new system. But not just in the 1st Party games, but 3rd Party and Indie Games as well. And now, SEGA has revealed another success, and one that was very unlikely when it launched last year, Puyo Puyo Tetris.

Yeah, didn’t see that coming, did you? This news came from producer Mizuki Hosoyamada, who was on a special show detailing a new game in the Puyo Puyo franchise and revealed the surprising number for the new console.

Now, you might be wondering…why is this a surprise? Well, the game originally came out in 2014, so this was kind of an old port. What’s more, it’s very much a casual game, as it makes two different universes together in a cutesy anime style. Yet, whether because of the story or the intense and challenging gameplay, players have resonated with it. Who knew?

We here at the Outerhaven loved Puyo Puyo Tetris, and gave it a great score in our review!
