Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Broly And Bardock To The Roster

With the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ, fans of the anime series wanted to see more of their favorite characters added to the roster. Who can blame them, right? With literally hundreds of characters who didn’t make the initial cut. The game has quite the universe to who can be picked and added at any time. And thus, we have our first DLC additions coming to the game – Bardock and Broly.

These two characters will be available as premium DLC, according to Bandai Namco via Japanese magazine V-Jump. Currently, there are no pricing or availability of them.

That’s right fight fans, the father of the perhaps the most ironic Dragon Ball character is being added. The first Saiyan to rise up against Lord Frieza and the first (in recorded history) to transform into a Super Saiyan (anime only). The addition of adding him is a bit odd to me. Only being featured in just one OVA, the character isn’t well known outside of the hardcore DBZ fans.

Hopefully, he won’t be just a palette swap of Goku and will have this own moveset.

Another fan favorite, Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan, whose power knows no limit. Oddly enough I didn’t expect him to be added since Dragon Ball Super added its own version of the character with Caulifla. Broly has also only been seen in Dragon Ball movies. While he’s not canon to the anime series, it will be nice to the big guy added to the roster.

We’re talking about a character who is constantly being seen smacking around a good chunk of the Dragon Ball Z roster. It will be interesting to see how he’s handled in the game. At least we’ll have another bruiser to go against Android 16.

Legendary Super Saiyan

Honestly, while I’m happy to see both are being added. I was hoping that we wouldn’t see so many Saiyans on the roster. With Goku, SSB Goku, Vegeta, SSB Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Adult Gohan, Gotenks, Trunks and Goku Black already in the game. Adding two more Saiyans bumps the number up to nine. That’s way more than enough.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
