Detective Pikachu Coming To West With Amiibo, Special Pikachu Coming As Well

Pikachu 2DS Detective Pikachu

Are you ready for some Pikachu? Because Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have just dropped some major news. The once Japan-only 3DS title Detective Pikachu is coming to the West. The game stars an actual talking Pikachu as he helps humans solve cases. But not as a sidekick, oh no, he’s the lead in these cases. The game has been out in Japan for a while now, and we’re grateful we’re getting it finally, especially since there’s a movie for it coming out.

What’s more, Detective Pikachu is getting his own Amiibo figure. One that is much bigger than the standard ones. The Amiibo will unlock special cutscenes within the game itself.

Still not enough Pikachu for you? Well, how about this? Nintendo is released a special Pikachu 2DS this month! The special 2DS will arrive on January 26th.

“The New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition is a charming addition to the Nintendo 3DS line-up that is sure to delight Pokémon fans of all ages,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
