By James VerzuhNovember 13, 2017

ESL CS: GO Season 6 Ends, Finals to be held In Odense, Denmark

The season is over, now it’s time to see who’s the best!

Veterans Day saw the end of the sixth season of the ESL Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro League regular season.  Since the end of August 28 of the best Counter-Strike teams in the world, 14 North American and 14 European, have battled, sniped, and planted bombs all in an effort to earn one of the top 6 positions in their region and a trip to the finals.  The season was spread over 10 weeks and concluded last Saturday.

Founded in 2000 the ESL is the world’s largest esports company as well as the oldest esports organization still operating. ESL also has the honor of being the largest esports company to broadcast on Twitch.  The ESL also has 8 other esports leagues currently.

Who’s in?

The final standings for North America and Europe are up.  As mentioned above the top six teams from each region will compete in Denmark.  For NA the six teams are:

  • OpTic Gaming
  • SK Gaming
  • Team Liquid
  • NRG Esports
  • Misfits
  • Luminosity Gaming

These teams will face the top six European teams.  For the EU the teams are:

  • Fnatic
  • North
  • FaZe Clan
  • Astralis
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Hellraisers

The tournament will feature a round-robin group stage followed by a single elimination bracket.  The first place from each group will automatically qualify for the semi-finals.  $225,000 is waiting for the team that takes the first place slot, with an impressing $100,000 and $60,000 going to the second place and third/fourth places respectively.

Congratulations and good luck to all the teams headed to Denmark.  The finals will be held in Odense, Denmark in the Sparekassen Fyn Arena on December 5th through the 10th.  For more information and tickets check out the official ESL site:
