The Evil Within 2 PC Requirements Now Revealed

The Evil Within 2

With two weeks left until Bethesda’s The Evil Within 2 releases, the company has finally revealed the PC requirements. While the minimum requirements are tame (except that 8GB of RAM), the recommended requirements are a different story.

Yes, that does say it needs 16GB of RAM, which is considered to be a good amount. There’s no telling if the game is going to use all 16GB or not. But if it does, that’s really going to cause a lot of performance related issues. Also, the ID Tech 5 engine will be making a return. Only this time around, Tango Gameworks has done some heavy modifications to it and have dubbed it the “STEM ENGINE“.

I can only hope that this time around we won’t have access many performance issues as we did with part one. It barely hit 30fps on consoles and even decently outfitted PCs had trouble running the game. At least the GPU requirements aren’t as demanding.

Minimum:
OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 / AMD FX-8320 or better
8 GB RAM,
40GB free HDD space
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD 7970 3GB or better

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or better
16 GB RAM
40GB free HDD space
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB / AMD RX 480 8GB or better

The Evil Within 2 releases on Oct. 13th, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The title will also be enhanced for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

I think I need to go pick up some extra ram, to be on the safe side.

P.S. – We’ll be streaming this as soon as it is available on the PC.
