Denuvo In The PC Version Of Sonic Forces And No Persona 5 Costume

Well folks, here we go again. We only recently got past the whole Denuvo in Sonic Mania thing, so I guess it’s time for the next chapter. While it was rumored that Sonic Forces would also use Denuvo, it wasn’t confirmed.

However, as of today, we can safely say that it has been – thanks to the official Steam page listing. So there’s that, but I’m not really surprised it was added. I mean, just look at what happened with Sonic Mania. If you didn’t see this coming, well I don’t know what to tell you. Let’s just hope Denuvo doesn’t end up causing any performance issues.

Then there’s the little omission of the Persona 5 bonus costume.  Yep, looks like the PC version of Sonic Forces won’t be seeing any Atlus bonus stuff. Though you really wouldn’t know, due to how the wording is. However, a little investigation shows the following.

PSN Sonic Forces page – SEGA PACK / ATLUS (DLC)
Xbox Live Sonc Forces page – SEGA PACK / ATLUS (DLC)

This confirms that both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version get all the costumes. The Atlus stuff is a separate download and isn’t included in the Sega DLC. When checking out the Steam page, it reads a bit different.

Steam page – SEGA PACK (DLC)

The PC only gets the Sega DLC costumes, not the Atlus ones – meaning no Persona 5 stuff. Now, one could say that it’s because Persona 5 never came to the PC, which is true. But it also never came to the Xbox One either. So why the PC doesn’t get the Atlus stuff is beyond me. It very well could be a mistake, it wouldn’t be the first time this has happened. As such, we’ve reached out to our Sega/Atlus contacts regarding this. We’ll update the story once we know more.

Sonic Forces releases on Nov, 7th, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
