Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch Bundle Coming Exclusively to Walmart

Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch Bundle - The Outerhaven

An official Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch bundle set will be hitting Walmart shelves next month. The package will include a Splatoon 2-themed carrying case, download code for the game, and neon pink and green joy-con controllers. It will retail for $379.99 and be available on September 8th.

Nintendo first revealed these specially-colored Splatoon 2 joy-cons, as well as a Pro Controller that featured similar neon pink and green grips, back in May. While the Pro Controller has already made its way stateside, the bundle set was released only in Europe and Japan last month. September will be the first chance U.S. gamers have to get ahold of these unique peripherals, exclusively through Walmart.

Despite announcing in March that they would be doubling their production of the Switch, Nintendo has had difficulty in keeping up with demand for their popular console. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé stated during E3 that they were “scaling up the production to make more available into the marketplace“, but gamers are still hard pressed to find the Switch anywhere. When units do become available, most retailers sell them in their own bundles with accessories and games, although some just pack in whatever else they have on hand like stuffed animals and board games. This Splatoon 2 bundle is the first official game pack-in from Nintendo, and a great opportunity to pick up the console with useful add-ons and a code for one of the system’s most popular new releases.
