PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds New Map To Be Really Freaking Huge

By Keith MitchellAugust 29, 2017

While I haven’t dipped my toes into the pool that is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, I definitely am aware of the game. I mean, it’s really hard not to know the game of a game that has been shattering records on Steam. Or the game that Microsoft simply won’t shut up about (Hi, Microsoft). I’m definitely a fan and maybe one day I’ll jump in, but we’re not here to talk about that. No, we’re here to talk about a really freaking huge man that’s coming to the game.

This map is, that’s simply called ” the desert map” will be 8×8 kilometers in size as confirmed in an interview with Brendan Green (PlayerUnknown). Obviously with a map this huge, it seems that vehicles are going to play a bigger role than they do currently. But that’s not all that excites me.  It’s what in this really freaking huge map that gets me going! Look at all that room!

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds desert map

I’m a former fan of Battlefield and Battlefield 2, especially the Desert Combat mod that came out for it. And this new desert map is giving me the same vibes.Tons of buildings, prime for ambushes, as well as close and range combat. Wide open areas and I’m a sucker for city maps, regardless of the game.  I’ll be watching the status of this map very closely. This could be what finally gets me to check out the game for myself.

As for when we can expect the map, well that’s still “Unknown” at the moment.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available for PC/Steam and will be making its way to the Xbox One and Xbox One X.
