Metroid: Samus Returns Gets Reversible Cover

Ok, this is short, sweet, and very cool. So, the upcoming Metroid: Samus Returns for Nintendo 3DS is taking the second game in the renown Metroid series and updating it for the modern age. Including full-on 3D graphics and even new gameplay features like Aeion powers. But, that doesn’t mean they’re disregarding the original game. No, not at all.

*Editor note: Apparently this only applies to the Special Edition copy of the game*

You see, the team behind the game have noted that storywise the game is going to be the same, as it’s an important part of Metroid lore. But, another way they’re showing their love for the original title is via the games cover. For it’s reversible. On one side will be the “modern” cover. And on the flip side is the original box art for Metroid II: Return of Samus. Check it out.

Now that’s showing love for what has come before. Metroid: Samus Returns arrives on September 15th.
