XSEED Drops More Information And A Trailer For Ys SEVEN

By Keith MitchellJuly 17, 2017

I’m a sucker when it comes to the Ys titles. Ever since I played my very first one many years ago, I was hooked on them. I can still hear the original theme from the first Ys in my head. So as you can probably imagine, I’m pretty excited for the announcement of Ys SEVEN making its way to the PC.

Thanks to the efforts of XSEED Games, we’ll be porting over the game, we’ll be to play Ys SEVEN, which was originally released on the Sony PSP, on the PC – with several enhancements. Sadly, I missed out Ys SEVEN as I didn’t own a PSP, but now I can make up for lost time with this release.

This port or rather remaster will include a full HD overhaul, a solid 60fps framerate and will even have achievements for both Steamworks and GOG Galaxy.

Offering satisfyingly fast-paced, real-time action, Ys SEVEN features a combat system that involves a three-member battle party with the ability to swap among characters at will. Series veterans and newcomers alike can expect to be immersed in a rich, vibrant world containing over 30 hours of action-packed gameplay and an epic storyline wherein players must reunite the estranged five tribes who serve and protect the Five Great Dragons – deified beings who may well be the world’s last hope. Ys SEVEN was the first title in the long-running action RPG franchise to reach a wide mainstream audience in the West, and the first title in this historically PC-centric series to be developed from the ground up for a console or handheld system since the mid-‘90s.

While XSEED hasn’t announced an exact release date, we can expect to get our hands on the title this Summer 2017.  The title will be available on Steam, GOG and Humble Bundle when it’s released.
