As it was revealed during Sony’s E3 2017 Press Conference, there is now a Story Demo of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite to wet our appetites with before the game releases on September 19, 2017. In the demo you get a chance to try out quite a few characters during a battle sequence taken from the story mode of the game. You take control of characters like Captain America, Chun Li, Captain Marvel, Mega Man, Thor, Nathan Spencer & more while they enact a plan to break the Mad Titan Thanos out of the prison in XGard, the combined version of the homeworld of Thor and Mega Man respectively due to a convergence caused by Ultron and Sigma combining into one being using the Reality Stone to become the main boss of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite: Ultron-Sigma. You can check out the full play-through of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite’s Story Demo in the video below:

As you can see from the video, the graphics in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite are vastly different from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, leaving the more cartoon/comic book style of the characters for an almost realistic style approach. However, the gameplay is still very fast and over the top. Hyper Combos can now be triggered by pressing both heavy buttons at the same time. The buttons themselves are in a light punch/light kick and heavy punch/heavy kick format, another change from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and making it more like Marvel vs Capcom 2, a favorite in the series. Another change comes in the form of the Infinity Stones, which can be activated during the fight if you have enough meter to use them. Shown in the demo are the Time Stone (Allowing you to warp around or slow down time), Power Stone (A secondary guard or power boost), Reality Stone (OP as hell!) and Space Stone (Locks opponent into a small space that they cannot move out of for a time).

Once the demo is over, you are presented with the screen above, prompting you to Pre-Order Marvel vs Capcom Infinite via either the PlayStation Store or Xbox Marketplace, depending on your version of the demo. It also details some of the extra costumes for Thor, Hulk, Ryu & Mega Man with Warrior Thor & Evil Ryu being Pre-Order bonues for the standard edition and Warrior Thor, Evil Ryu, Gladiator Hulk & Command Mission Mega Man X being available if you Pre-Order the Deluxe Edition. Again we are also presented with a “featuring” message for Sigma as a separate character, with the official Marvel vs Capcom Infinite website confirming that he will be one of the 6 All-New Characters (all with Premium costumes) available in the Deluxe Edition, Collectors Edition and Season Pass for the game.
