Connection issues with the Switch Joy Con?

By William "Shadowz" KokFebruary 23, 2017

Well this is somewhat concerning before the  the release of the Nintendo Switch. For the general media and those who have received their Nintendo Switch early, some have stated that they are having problems with their joy con not properly functioning when playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild. At first, many said that the left joy-con controller was the  main source of the problem, but then some  reported that the right joy-con is suffering from the same issue. Thankfully, Gamexplain has addressed this problem themselves and tested what may be the cause of the problem.

From what they tested, it is due to any interference that is close to the controller such as hands, obstructions, and possibly wifi interference from mobile devices. This does raise some concerns. I’m reminded of the Wii remote. Of course you don’t want to obstruct or block the connection between the main unit and controllers, but it raises the worries that you can’t play it too far from the unit. This didn’t occur with the Wii and the wiimotes. Just how far are you able to play from the unit with the Joy-cons? I don’t think it will take too much away from the launch, but it is something to think about. Does this deter you from getting a Switch? Guess we’ll see at launch on March 3rd.

Nintendo Switch will be released on March 3.
