Hearthstone: The Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Announced

By Josh PiedraNovember 4, 2016

At the 2016 edition of Blizzcon, Blizzard announced their newest expansion, Hearthstone: The Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. The new expansion is themed after the city of Gadgetzan, a desert outpost from World of Warcraft that has exploded as a center of trade. Cards from the new set will explore the underbelly of Gadgetzan.

The expansion will feature three crime families: The Grimy Goons, The Jade Lotus and The Kabal.  The Grimy Goons are explained to be the brutes of the expansion while The Jade Lotus focuses on stealth.  The Kabal are spell casters that can also brew potions.

Each faction has a leader. The Kabal’s is Legendary Kazakus: “Battlecry, If your deck has no duplicates, create a custom spell. A 4 Mana 3/3.

Custom spells work by you first selecting a Mana cost that suits your current needs. Then you discover an effect, followed by a second effect, then the card is added to your hand. There are more than 100 different potions to craft.

For the first time ever, there will be tri-class cards.  For example, the The Kabal will have Mage, Priest and Warlock cards, but those cards can be played by any of those classes… so Mages can use Priest and Warlock Cards, etc, adding a huge new dynamic to the game. While some of the cards were unveiled, more will be released throughout the weekend at Blizzcon.

The Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion is set to go live in early December and is available to play right now if you’re lucky enough to attend Blizzcon!
