Dishonored 2 To Get A New Game Plus Mode

By Keith MitchellNovember 19, 2016

For most games like Dishonored or Assassin’s Creed, once you beat the main game / storyline, there’s little reason to fire up the game again. This is typically how the laws of gaming are and it looks like Bethesda isn’t content with it and has announced that Dishonored 2 will get a free update that gives gamers a reason to play through it again. Yes, Dishonored 2 is getting a New Game Plus mode, similar to games such as Dark Souls.

Per a conversation Bethesda, Eurogamer mentioned the following;

“Dishonored 2 will get a New Game Plus mode as a free update next month, allowing players the ability to replay the campaign with their suped up character.

Bethesda also teased on its blog that “new custom difficulty settings” will be added, though it’s unclear just what these will be. Details will follow “in the coming weeks.”

There hasn’t been any mention if there will be any minor or major changes to the story, or this will simply consist or the same story line with a vastly powered up character. For those how aren’t familiar with how a New Game Plus mode works, this gives gamers the chance to play through a game with the same character they used previously, with the extra powers and items they collected the first time around. Games such as Fromsoftware’s Dark Souls, BloodBorne and Demon’s Souls, are all games that have included this ability with the launch of the game.

Sounds like a great idea to me, especially since I haven’t gotten around to playing Dishonored 2 just yet. Lastly, if you’re on the fence about picking up the title, why not check out our Dishonored 2 review here.
