Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 Release Confirmed

By Jason KwasnickiJuly 19, 2016

Square Enix announced this morning that Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will be coming the Playstation 4 on October 11. The new edition includes all previously released content and DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider and feature new story content and modes. The game will launch at the price point of 59.99 USD.

New to the game will be a story chapter called “Blood Ties”, which takes place in the Croft Manor. Lara will have to investigate her family dwelling for evidence to refute her uncles claim to the estate. There will also be a mode titled “Lara’s Nightmare”, where she will have to defend the mansion from zombies. Exclusive to the Playstation 4, the Croft Manor can also be explored through PSVR.

Additionally, Rise of the Tomb Raider will receive an expansion to”Endurance” mode. For the first time, players will be able to play online cooperatively. The new “Extreme Survivor” difficulty should also give seasoned veterans a reason to return to the campaign.

Season Pass holders for the original iterations of the game will receive this content for free. This does not, however, include PSVR support. Born and raised in the New York area, currently kicking it in Queens, and keeping an ear to the grindstone in this crazy world of internet media hustling. Having attended the George Washington University with a Degree in History, I'm sometimes inclined to use big words unnecessarily. While I typically play a lot of RPGs, I tend to like any game that is fun. My PSN ID is NY-Miller, so hit me up if you ever want to kill some Wizards on the Moon in Destiny.
