Update: We’re Full! We’Re Looking for a Nintendo Staff Writer

By Keith MitchellJuly 26, 2016

The position has been filled! Thanks for everyone who applied!

It’s that time again! We’re looking to add several members to our Outerhaven Productions family and we’re opening the door once again. We’re looking to bolster by adding a Nintendo Staff Writer and are actively looking for someone who eats, breathes and loves Nintendo. Are you that someone?

You’ll be working hand in hand with a determined and passionate bunch of gamers, geeks and you’re sure to find a place to call home. You’ll be tasked to write on the news as it happens, editorial / feature pieces and will able to try your hand at writing a game review or two.

Seeing this position is for a Nintendo writer, you’ll need to be passionate and knowledgeable about the world of Nintendo. This includes their past, present and their future. You’ll have to be a great writer, motivated, and looking to learn and improve. You don’t have to be a professional either. If you have a good grasp of the English language, love to write and love video games, then this may be the position for you!

We’re opening up the positions strictly for North America. While we’d love to open this up to the rest of the world, time zones add a bit of complexity that makes it a tough nut to crack.

This is a volunteer only position that may grow into something more! This is a Nintendo specific position and said persons will only be required to work on Nintendo themed works.

Time to apply runs from 7/26/2016 – 8/11/2016.

Perks? Oh, we got those:

  • Access to your very own Outerhaven email and cloud storage account
  • Access to press only events and public events (After being aboard for several months)
  • Your very own The Outerhaven Polo shirt (After being aboard for several months)
  • Joining a growing team of individuals who share the same love of gaming as you do.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing 5-6 articles a week, 200-300 words each.
  • Reviewing Nintendo games (optional)
  • Representing The Outerhaven at various events
  • Capturing gameplay from various Nintendo games
  • Participation on our weekly podcast

Skills we’re looking for:

  • The ability to write neatly, precisely and quickly
  • A vast interest in all things Nintendo
  • Experience with creating and pitching articles
  • A keen eye for detail and good grammar skills
  • The ability stand out in a crowd and be heard
  • Previous CMS experience is a plus!

Have you any experience:

  • Published work somewhere or other, ideally online
  • Basic image and/or video editing skills
  • Past works from a website or blog.

If interested, please fill out the form below! Good luck to everyone who applies and we can’t wait to meet you all!
