Blizzard Announces Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan

By Josh PiedraJuly 29, 2016

During the 2016 ChinaJoy event, Blizzard Entertainment announced the fourth adventure for their community card game, Hearthstone.  The new adventure will be called One Night in Karazhan, themed after the initial raid from the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion.

The Hearthstone adventure will feature four wings which you can purchase for 700 gold or $6.99 each. Like with previous adventures, there will be an option to purchase all the wings at once at a discount and they will unlock over time. You will receive a special card back if you purchase all of the adventure wings within the first week of release. Unlike last adventures, though, there will be a fifth wing that will be free for everyone and will be considered a prologue to the adventure. The free wing will allow you to play as the alternate mage hero Medivh and will award you with two free cards: Enchanted Raven and Firelands Portal, which can be seen below

The adventure is set to release on August 11 and will contain 45 brand new cards in total.

    • The Magic Mirror.
    • Chess will make an appearance. Your cards are chess pieces.
  • Barnes, the Opera House’s Stage Manager heads wing 2.
  • There are three opera fights, just like WoW’s Karazhan.
    • Romeo & Juliet
    • Wizard of Oz
    • Little Red Riding Hood
  • The Curator heads wing 3 – The Menagerie
    • Nightbane
    • Illhoof

The card back on the left is the one you will receive when you purchase all four wings of the Hearthstone adventure during the first week. The card back on the right is currently from an unknown source, but one could assume that it will be the card back you receive if you complete the Hearthstone adventure on Heroic Mode.  That is just speculation, though.

Revealed Cards

In addition to the two free cards above, Blizzard revealed five other cards, which included two neutral legendaries as well as a Rogue, Paladin and Hunter class card.

Finally, we were also treated to a Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan official trailer which you can view below.

The Hearthstone adventure will be available of PC, Android and iOS devices.  Just be mindful that iOS and Android devices are typically patched after the PC version so all versions may not be available at the same time, but should be released on the same day.
