Yikes! Maybe Things Aren’t Doing so Well for Battleborn Afterall

By Keith MitchellJune 3, 2016

While we’ve talked about the poor planning that resulted in Battleborn being released during the same month as Overwatch, I’ve been pretty supportive of the title. Sure, it definitely isn’t getting the numbers that 2k games and Gearbox Software may have wanted, but I felt it had legs and the team to make it appealing. However, things may have a turn for the, um… not better.

Game Informer is reporting that the writer for Battleborn, Aaron Linde, is departing the company. Linde, who was mainly responsible for the comedic aspect of Battleborn, which is something I felt helped Battleborn stand out announced that today (6/3/2016) would be his last day at Gearbox Software.

Hopefully, this doesn’t cause any issues with the continued progression of Battleborn, the game isn’t doing so well as it stands, had already received a 30% reduction of its asking price and already being written off by many gamers as the poor man’s Overwatch clone.

Battleborn is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
