Ubisoft Announces South Park: The Fractured, but Whole at E3

By Josh PiedraJune 13, 2016

Ubisoft has announced South Park: The Fractured, but Whole, a spiritual successor, to South Park: The Stick of Truth, during their E3 press conference today.  The game will be available on December 6 in North America as well as Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Fans can start pre-ordering the game today and as a pre-order bonus, you will receive a copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth for free at launch!  However, if you pre-purchase from certain retailers, you’ll be able to play The Stick of Truth immediately! The game will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows 10 PC.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were out to talk about the game. What they showed was similar to how Stick of Truth played.  This will be another RPG adventure and the graphics looked just like an iconic episode of South Park.  The humor on display was exactly what you would expect so it shows that Parker and Stone were working closely with Ubisoft once again on the development of this title.

The story for the game is as follows from Ubisoft:

With crime on the rise in South Park, the streets have never been more dangerous. As the sun sets on the quiet Colorado town, havoc and chaos unleash a reign of terror and the seedy underbelly of the city comes alive. The town needs new heroes to rise! Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town and create the best superhero franchise ever, his own Coon & Friends with himself as the leader, The Coon. Continuing in their role as the New Kid, players will become a member of Coon & Friends and fight for fame and their place beside the other kids. Players must harness their fart-based powers to fight crime and become part of the most marketable superhero franchise of all time. Every superhero has an origin, and Coon & Friends are no different. Players will discover their backstory, assemble their unique costumes, and mix and match powers from numerous hero classes to create their own original hero.

The game will utilize Snowdrop, Ubisoft’s proprietary engine.  It will allow more places to explore and greater freedom of customization of your character.  Unlike The Stick of Truth, there will be a whole new combat system in which you will master space and time while on the battlefield.  The looting and crafting system was also revamped and will allow players the freedom to craft their own equipment.
