Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty May 2016 Review

By Keith MitchellMay 19, 2016

Welcome back fellow gift box subscription friends. You know what time it is. Yep, it’s gift box review time and this we’re taking a look at the Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty gift box for May 2016. And as always, this review is from the heart. If I feel it isn’t worth the asking price of the subscription, I’ll definitely you. And if it rocks, well you get the idea.

This month’s theme for the Star Wars Smuggle’s Bounty was all about the bounty hunters. Let’s get to it, shall we?

What in this month’s box?

  • Funko Bounty Hunter T-shirt
  • Funko POP! Vinyl exclusive IG-88
  • Funko POP! Vinyl exclusive Boba Fett
  • Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Boba Fett Patch
  • Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Boosk pin

Thoughts about the goodies inside!

Funko POP! Vinyl exclusive Boba Fett – $20

Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m a huge fan of Funko’s POP! Vinyl line-up. I’ll admit that and while I know some people simply can’t stand them, I just love them. That all said, the fact that this month came with not one but two POP! Vinyls was pretty freaking cool.

The first one is the main bounty hunter himself, Boba Fett. I’m pretty sure I have one of this figure floating around somewhere, this one is  exclusive to the Smuggler’s Bounty gift box, so that puts it over the top. If I’d have to give this a price, I’d say it’s worth $20 dollars.

And no, I’m not selling it.

Funko POP! Vinyl exclusive IG-88  – $20

Now this guy, IG-88, I’m pretty sure I don’t have one of these. Come to think of it, was this one even available yet? Either way, we got yet another bounty hunter in the house. I kind of feel bad for my rebels, as my imperial and all around bad guys in the Funko POP! Vinyl universe is starting to outnumber all the good guys that I have. I’d pay $20 for this guy as well.

Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Boba Fett Patch & Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Boosk Pin – $12

While I’m typically not a fan of pins and patches, both the ones included in this month’s box are decent. Though with all the gift boxes I’ve been collecting, I’ve been able to amass quite the collection of pins and patches. And I’ve made a pretty cool looking jacket with them as well. Nothing too special here.

Funko Bounty Hunter T-shirt – $15

Sigh, I really hate getting t-shirts. Not that I hate the shirts, but the fact that once I get one, it’s quickly claimed by someone else in my home. Either way, I really like this design. As this month’s theme is all about the bounty hunters, we get a collection of some of the more notable bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe. I’d pay $15 dollars for this shirt.

Though, they did mess up and send me a 3X large shirt. Good lord, I’m a large at best…. this thing is gonna be freaking huge on me.

I’d pay $15 dollars for this shirt.

Overall Impressions:

All in all, while this month’s Smuggler’s Bounty giftbox was pretty light with only three items, the two exclusive Funko POP! Vinyl easily makes up for that. The T-shirt is also pretty cool. So far I don’t think I’ve had one bad Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty and with that, I hope they can keep up with their already stellar track record.

Don’t let me down, Funko!

There’s not really much to say here. Two exclusive POP Vinyl, a cool T-shirt and you have a decent offering for the asking price of $25. And if you want to get in, be sure to head over to https://www.smugglersbounty.com and get your Smuggler’s Bounty collection started. I get them for the POP! Vinyl, everything else is extra and usually just as cool.

  • Bad guys or not, this month's Smuggler's Bounty was damned good
