Here We Go with yet Another Xbox One Price Drop. What’s Going On?

By Keith MitchellMay 31, 2016

It wasn’t that long ago that one could pick up a shiny new XBox one console for $299.99. That went away and the price for the system went back up to $349 for the 500GB models and $369 for the 1TB versions. Well, now it seems that the price drop is back yet again. Gamers can pick up a 500GB Xbox One, including the Gears of War Ultimate or Special Edition Quantum Breaker for $299, while the 1TB variations are selling for $319.

Looks like the pricing is also in effect everywhere. I’ve checked Gamestop, Bestbuy, Amazon and even the Microsoft store.

However, the question here is why the price drop and so soon? Sure, E3 is right around the corner and with that comes the rumor that microsoft will be announced a slimmed down version of the Xbox One. Now that would be a coincidence as to why the older systems are being sold off at a discount. Then again it could merely be for E3 2016 taking place and Microsoft looking to get more systems sold. Either way, it’s a win for anyone looking to get a Xbox One for cheap, well cheaper than normal.
