SNK Playmore Re-Brands; Removes Playmore from Name

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieApril 25, 2016

SNK Playmore in a tweet earlier this morning officially announced that they would be re-branding, and will be known from this point on simply as ‘SNK.’

The re-branding of SNK Playmore comes after being acquired by Chinese investors over eight months ago, with Ledo Millenium acquiring 81.25 percent of SNK’s stock.

Editor’s Note: The official re-branding of SNK Playmore to it’s old name and corporate message “The Future Is Now,” is a throwback to the corporate message of the 90s, where SNK was in prominence with its yearly releases of King of Fighters and it’s seeming perpetual place in arcades across the world. It also comes at a good time, with the King of Fighters to be released in late August of 2016, so this should generate some business buzz for SNK.
