Fallout 4 DLC: Automatron Gets Trailer and Release Date

By Jason KwasnickiMarch 14, 2016

The first of three announced DLC releases for Fallout 4 will be arriving on March 22, as announced by Bethesda Softworks today. A trailer was also posted on the company’s official website and YouTube channel, showcasing some of the intense mechanical action that we can expect from the new content.

This first expansion will feature a new quest line, in which the Lone Survivor will have to take on the Mechanist. He has launched an assault on the Commonwealth using his robot hordes, including the infamous Robobrain. Longtime fans of the series will be familiar with some of these names, and now they will appear in Fallout 4. Quests aside, the DLC will also give the Lone Survivor the capability to collect robot parts and build their own mechanical sidekick. Based on the trailer, it looks like there will be some interesting combat options to choose from.

Automatron is just the first in a series of three planned DLC packs to be released over the course of this spring. Fans of Fallout 4 can expect to see the other two, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor, to drop in April and May respectively. Bethesda boasts that the latter will feature the largest map they have ever built for an expansion. That would be quite an achievement, as the Shivering Isles and Solstheim were no joke. Stay tuned for more Fallout 4 coverage from the Outerhaven, and you can read our official review of the vanilla game here.

Born and raised in the New York area, currently kicking it in Queens, and keeping an ear to the grindstone in this crazy world of internet media hustling. Having attended the George Washington University with a Degree in History, I'm sometimes inclined to use big words unnecessarily. While I typically play a lot of RPGs, I tend to like any game that is fun. My PSN ID is NY-Miller, so hit me up if you ever want to kill some Wizards on the Moon in Destiny.
