Enter the Gungeon gets a release for PC and PS4 on April 5th 2016

By Keith MitchellMarch 2, 2016

FINALLY! Devolver Digital and Dodge Roll Games has announced that the upcoming indie title, Enter the Gungeon, will be released on April 5, 2016, for the PlayStation 4 and PC. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m excited about this news. I played this back during PAX East 2015 and they pretty much had to use a stick to get me off the controller and it wasn’t pretty. That said, I’ve been waiting for this gem to be released and looks like my wait will be just about over.

Enter the Gungeon puts you (and a friend) in a pixelated dungeon where you blast your way across those levels, as well as taking out some pesky and annoying bosses that attempt to stop your progress. As the name suggests, you don’t hack and slash your way, you blast (and roll) your way with a large assortment of weapons. And despite the old school look, trust me when I say that the action is real and the game is tons of fun. If you like “oh shit, I’m gonna die” action, you’ll love Enter the Gungeon. Just think of Zelda meets your favorite Bullet Hell shmup and you should get a good idea of what’s going on here.

Did I mention that there’s over 100 guns to play with in the game?

Just look at all the lovely destruction!

“Enter the Gungeon dares to dream about what would happen if you shot bullets at bullets that were shooting bullets back at you,” said Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. “Gun on gun crime is a real issue and I’m going to exploit it for money.”

Brave Gungeoneers will be armed to the teeth with hundreds of unique weapons and items for dangerous encounters with legions of gun-toting bullets. Handcrafted rooms combine to form generated dungeons and create a seamless new adventure as players unlock new weapons, uncover new secrets, and meet new allies sympathetic to their struggle. There’s also something called the Shotgun of Hate so get ready for that little gem.

April 5th can’t get here soon enough!

Is it April 5th yet?
