Capybara Games Below Finally Gets a Release Date, Well Sort Of

By Keith MitchellMarch 16, 2016

Capybara Games has been a busy bee as of late and in fact, for most of the past two years. Their most recent title, Below, which can only be described as being the love child of the Zelda: Link to the Past and Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls games, is getting closer to a release date. Well, sort of. We now know that Below will be released in the upcoming Summer of 2016, thanks to a new trailer that was released today, but we don’t know when in the summer.

Now, while I haven’t had a hands on with the title in quite some time, I did manage to brave the long lines to get a few minutes with the title during PAX East 2014. And while that was a brief time with the game, I really enjoyed my time with. A refreshing take on a formula that was perfected by few games, while Capybara Games added their own charm to it. And let me tell you, if the game stayed in its original shape that you would have loved it, but seeing how much time it has been since my last taste, I can only image how much I’m going to enjoy Below when it’s officially released.

And seeing how PAX East 2016 is right around the corner, here’s to hoping it makes a showing there.
