Singer Mami Kawada Announces Retirement

During the LisAni concert that was held on Sunday, January 24, 2016, singer Mami Kawada announced to all those in attendance that she will be holding her final live concert on May 21, 2016.  The concert will take place at Mami Kawada Final Fan Festival at the Tokyo Dome City Hall and will feature musical guests KOTOKO, fripSide, and Maon Kurosaki.  In addition to announcing it as her final concert, she clarified that she will also be retiring from singing as well. 

Mami Kawada has performed theme songs for To Aru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index), To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun), Jormungand, Hayate the Combat Butler, To Love-ru, Tokyo Ravens and Shakugan no Shana.  Most recently she performed songs for the Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm: Beyond the sky, into the firmament video game.  Kawada’s 16th single, “Contrail ~Kiseki~” will go on sale January 27, 2016.
