No, say it ain’t so, Tony! Michael Weatherly to depart NCIS

By Keith MitchellJanuary 6, 2016

As a vivid watcher of ABC’s NCIS tv show, I was pretty bummed out when Cote de Pablo, who played the character, Ziva, left the show. I wasn’t sure about her replacement (still aren’t either) and I wasn’t sure how the outlook of the show would be. Plus we never got the Tony + Ziva that everybody was waiting on. Well, now I just got even more bummed last night, when Michael Weatherly, or better known as Tony DiNozzo, has announced that he would be leaving the show after 13 seasons and that this season would be his last.

Since the announcement, Michael, has tweeted about this experiences with the show and confirming that he is in fact leaving NCIS.

DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons pic.twitter.com/GR7YSsmsKJ

Reasons for the departure aren’t cited, nor is how ABC plans on handling this departure from the show. Hopefully they give him a story line worthy of the character that is “DiNozzo” and won’t have him simply chasing the love of his life that is Ziva. Don’t tell me you don’t think Tony wouldn’t do that, because, well… it’s Ziva.

That leaves the remaining three characters; Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Abby (Pauley Perrette) and Ducky (David McCallum) left to carry on.

Now I can’t stop wondering who’s going to leave next. Damn, even worse…. I have to break this news to my wife, she’s not going to be too thrilled.
